A card game and accusations of cheating led to a dispute between an outlaw known as “Shooter” Mitchum, portrayed by Pete McKay, and a gambler named Albert, portrayed by Phoenix Knight, on the corner of 13th and Blair streets Friday, June 6. A gunfight ensued and “Shooter” gunned down the alleged card cheat.The sound of gunfire from the intersection has become a regular occurrence on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. this summer as members of the Silverton Gunfighters Association shoot it out.
