The Casey Jones, a rail bus built by Clyde Jones in the Sunnyside Mine shop in Eureka in 1915 or slightly earlier, pulled into Silverton from Durango on Wednesday on its own power. It will be put on display at the San Juan County Historical Society Museum this summer. It was originally built as an ambulance to get from the mine area to Silverton, eight miles away. The rail bus was rebuilt a few times over the year, with its original Maxwell motor replaced by a Cadillac motor and transmission. Its body was rebuilt in 1929 in a Eureka carpenter shop.
