Silverton is blanketed in snow on New Year’s Eve 2009.

OK, so who’s the one that left town?
According to an estimate released by the Colorado State Demographer’s Office, San Juan County’s population dropped by approximately one over the last year.
The office estimated the county’s population in 2009 at 566, down from 567 in 2008.
The county’s population was 558 in the 2000 census. The state demographer estimates it rose to 583 by 2006, but has since dwindled.
