Woman killed as Lexus plunges off Coal Bank

Recovery of Silverton work on extracting the vehicle as San
Juan County Sheriff’s Office deputy Jason Sutter (near the
Twilight Peak sign) watches. Also helping out on the vehicle
recovery were John Sites and Mark Mackie.
 
 
A 43-year-old Las Vegas woman was killed when the 1995 Lexus she was driving plunged off Coal Bank Pass last weekend, and the Colorado State Patrol is still trying to figure out exactly how the incident happened.
Antonetta Massey was reported missing by her husband who lives in Denver on Saturday morning. The two are separated.
The Colorado State Patrol theorizes the incident occurred between Friday and Sunday afternoon.
