Longtime Silvertonian passes on at age 87
Alva Gallegos (Grandma Alva), age 87, began her journey to Everlasting Life on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2010.
Alva had always considered Silverton her true home and that is where her heart was.
She is survived by her five children, Jake (Margaret) Gallegos, Vivian (Max) Giron, Gloria (Bob) Martinez, Linda (Gene) Samora, Rick (Elaine) Gallegos; and 12 grandchildren, Cindy, Carla, Rod, DeAnne, Tricia, Bobby, Tim, Kelly, Bree, Erika, Mariah and Ian.
She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, five great,-great-grandchildren and her sister, Ella Quintana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake in 1977, granddaughter, Darlene and great-granddaughter, Desiree.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80226
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday Feb. 22, at St, Francis Cabrini Church, 6673 W. Chatfield Ave., Littleton.
Interment will immediate following at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver.
