The eight candidates for four Silverton Town Council seats faced about 60 voters in Town Hall Tuesday evening, taking on issues ranging from affordable housing to medical marijuana.
The forum was hosted by Silverton high school students Caleb Vinson, Allison Roberts, Nikole Aiken, Kacey Foster, Sergio Saldana and Jessica Pohlman.
In opening remarks, the four incumbents, Fred Fasching, John Schertz, Pat Swonger and Chris Tookey, explained why they want to continue serving on the Town Council. And the four challengers, Andy Morris, Beccy Rhoades, Karla Safranski and Greg Swanson weighed in on why they should be elected in the April 6 election.
