Town won't release results of hearing
The controversy surrounding an anonymous postcard mailed out days before Silverton’s April 6 town election erupted again at the Town Council’s Monday night meeting, with a request by Town Trustee Karla Safranski to hold an executive session on the issue being shot down in a 5-2 vote.
Trustee Pat Swonger, who filed a grievance against two town Public Works Department employees over the issue, voted with Safranski to conduct an executive session on the matter, following receipt of a memo from Town Attorney Jeff Robbins regarding the controversy.
Town officials refused to release that memo, invoking attorney-client privilege.
