Gunfighters' plan shot down

Town OKs additional performance, but railroad nixes the idea.
It was near sundown when “Sheriff Zeke,” portrayed by
John Cook, right, gunned down Dean “The Kid” Miller in
a Silverton Gunfighters Association performance on Sunday,
Sept. 6, 2009, at the corner of 12th and Blair streets. 
 
The Silverton Town Council endorsed the idea of a Silverton Gunfighters Association performance as the last train of the day leaves town, but officials with the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, who initially were OK with the idea, decided it would be too disruptive.
