Gone Fishing: Magazine joins campaign for Alpine Triangle

Field & Stream sees area as one of the 6 best wild places left in the West.
A photographer for Field & Stream magazine takes a photo of Ty Churchwell, backcountry coordinator for Trout Unlimited, in Cunningham Gulch last week. A team from Field & Stream was in the area last week working on an article on the Alpine Triangle.
 
 
Field & Stream magazine has teamed up with Trout Unlimited to highlight what they see as a need for more protection for the Alpine Triangle and five other highly valued areas for sportsmen across the West.
And a team from the magazine was in Silverton last week to test the waters of the area’s trout streams.
Chris Hunt of Idaho Falls, Idaho, communications director for Trout Unlimited, said the Alpine Triangle, a 186,000-acre swath of BLM land between Ouray, Silverton and Lake City, is one of the best wild places left in the West.
