School overhaul project kicks into gear.
Modular buildings that will serve as a temporary school come
September are being put into place on the playground.
The four modular units that will serve as a temporary Silverton School starting this September have been rolling into town and school officials expect to start moving into the units in just a few days.
School Superintendent Kim White expressed optimism that the school year will start on time, with the first day of classes scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 7.
“It’s happening,” White said. “I will say it’s been a wild ride getting here, but it’s all going to happen and with a week to spare.”
School registration is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at the school gym.
