Salazar elected county assessor; Jaramillo elected county clerk.
THE WINNERS
San Juan County Commissioner Ernie Kuhlman was re-elected to another 4-year term on Tuesday, Nov. 2, defeating Bob Boeder by a margin of 265-209.
And deputy County Clerk LaDonna Jaramillo will replace retiring clerk Dorothy Zanoni, after defeating Patricia “Lizzie” Kost by a vote of 251-217.
Meanwhile, Dan Salazar was elected county assessor, turning back challenges from Brent Westlund and Kara Jaramillo. Salazar received 274 votes, Westlund 119, and Jaramillo 81.
Salazar will replace Judy Zimmerman, who is stepping down after 20 years on the job.
Also returning to county office are three candidates who were unopposed in the Nov. 2 election — Sheriff Sue Kurtz, Treasurer Bev Rich, and Coroner Keri Metzler.
