They say Silverton firms can get a lot of work on renovation project.
Concrete is poured Wednesday, Jan. 12, at what will be the new
entrance to Silverton School. it is also actually the old entrance
that was sealed off years ago.
Silverton School officials and representatives of FCI Constructors, the project manager and general contractor for the $11.8 million school renovation project, say there’s lots of room for local contractors to take part in the project, and some already have.
School Superintendent Kim White said she and Anthony Edwards, who is managing the project on behalf of the school, reviewed local contractor participation after complaints were raised that they were not given a fair shot at bidding on the construction.
