Transfer station goes to winter hours,
now accepts tires
Effective this Saturday, Nov. 19, the transfer station will switch to winter hours.
The dump will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Officials at Bruin Waste Management, the transfer station’s operator, said the facility was getting little use after 4 p.m. since it is getting dark so early.
Tires are now accepted at the dump.
If you have a utility account the amount of the tire will be billed on your utility account. If you do not have a utility account you must come to Town Hall and pay for tires at that time, then you may take them to the dump with a voucher we will give you to give to Garth. Garth will not take money at the dump.
Regular tires are $5 and large industrial tires are $25.
