Rick Santorum and Mitt Romney each got eight votes in San Juan County’s Republican caucus Tuesday night, Feb. 7 at the County Courthouse.
Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul each got three votes.
Statewide, Santorum defeated Romney by a margin of 26,580 votes (40 percent) to 23,097 (35 percent).
No delegates were awarded in the county caucuses.
In 2008, Romney defeated eventual nominee John McCain by a margin of six votes to five.
