NBC "Today Show" was in town in March taping video on the community effort to save this historic newspaper
A producer for the NBC "Today Show" says that the morning news show's story on the Silverton Standard is now planned for THURSDAY morning, May 3.
It had earlier been scheduled for Friday..
But the producer said the schedule may change again because "Today Show" host is in London for "something special."
The story is about the community effort to save this historic newspaper.
It is reported by Bob Dotson, who does the "American Story" segment for the Today Show, the nation's top-rated morning TV news show.
Dotson's feature typically runs in the later part of the 8 a.m. one-hour segment of the 3-hour news show.
The Standard will keep you posted if we get more precise information on the broadcast.
Meanwhile, everyone is invited to the dedication ceremony for the Silverton Standard's historical marker at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.
The celebration will be at the San Juan County Historical Society Museum.
Light refreshments will be served.
