Fire Department's ladder truck arrives

A 1983 Pierce ladder truck is the latest piece of equipment obtained by the Silverton-San Juan County Fire Authority. It arrived Thursday afternoon, Sept. 27, obtained at a price of $15,000. It was formerly owned by the Aspen fire district. Firefighters tested it out at the County Courthouse and at the Grand Imperial Hotel, above.
