Wanda Miller, 79, of Montrose passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 at the Montrose Memorial Hospital.
Wanda was born in Silverton on Jan. 6, 1933 to Henry L. and Anna C. Damschroder. She was born and raised in Silverton, and graduated from the Silverton Public School.
She loved the mountains surround- ing Silverton, the people of the town, and considered herself a native of the small town. She was devoted to her family and spent much of her life as a Homemaker.
Wanda was a member of the Silverton school board, a member of the Silverton Town Council for 23 years. She was also the mayor of Silverton. Wanda was very involved with improvement of the Hillside Cemetery and was the one who helped get a holding facility at the cemetery. It was a project that was close to her heart.
Wanda was a member of the Gem Chapter of the Eastern Stars, a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary, and the American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She was also a Girl Scout Leader and a Cub Scout Leader for several years in Silverton.

Edward “Gene” Miller, of Montrose; son Norman Miller of Aurora; daughters, Kathy Miller of Montrose and Stephanie Miller (Matt) Haynes of Montrose. She is survived by grandchildren Wendy (Jordan) Adsit, Matthew Cox, Jeremy (Renee) Miller, Joshua (Amanda) Miller, Quentin and Autumn Haynes.
She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be handled by the Crippin Funeral Home, 802 E. Main Street., Montrose, CO 81401 (249-2121). A service will be held at Crippin Chapel on Friday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. Viewing will be at 9:30-10 a.m.
A graveside service will be held in Silverton at the Hillside Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.
