Youth Center dinner Saturday at Natalia’s
The Silverton Youth Center will have a fund-raiser dinner at Natalia’s on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 6-8 p.m.
The dinner will feature chili, cornbread, salad, dessert, and soda for $10.
Drawing Oct. 11 for
the quilt at museum
The drawing is scheduled Oct. 11 for the San Juan County Historical Society Charity Quilt on display at the museum.
The quilt, “The Proud Colors of our Nation,” was created by Lorraine Whittington of Montrose. Drawing tickets are $1.
KSJC annual meeting scheduled for Oct. 14
KSJC, Silverton Community Radio, is having its annual members and staff meeting/mixer at Villa Valla Dalla at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14.
There will be a DJ training and a session on the use of “Haley,” the station’s on-air music computer.
Changes to the program schedule and other plans for the coming year will also be discussed.
It’s a chance to meet KSJC DJs, volunteers and become a part of our local community radio station.
Locals Appreciation train to roll Nov. 1
The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad is offering its Silverton Locals Appreciation fare to ride the train round-trip (Coach class) for $20 on Sunday, Nov. 1.
The train will depart Silverton at 8:30 a.m. and travel to Durango for a two-hour layover, leaving for Silverton at 2:15 p.m.
Tickets will be sold to Silverton residents only until Oct. 12, when residents of Ouray, Telluride, and Ridgway can also purchase tickets. Tickets are available at either the Durango or the Silverton depot or by calling (970) 387-5416 or (970) 247-2733.
Tickets must be paid for at the time of booking and proof of residence will be required. No other discounts apply and tickets are non-refundable.
