The historic Masonic Lodge in Silverton was sold at auction
Saturday, Aug. 3, for $139,500 to Greenberry LLC. Partner
Tim Hewett said the company is buying it for the purpose of restoring it.
The 130-year-old Masonic Lodge building at 13th and Reese streets sold at auction on Saturday, Aug. 3 for $139,500, with brothers Fred and Tim Hewett becoming the new owners under a newly formed company called Greenberry LLC.
And the new owners say they plan to embark on what they see as a 5-year restoration project to bring the deteriorated building back to life.
On Tuesday, Tim Hewett, who owns a home on Reese Street, inspected the building he acquired, saying “there is nothing like this anywhere. This is a unique place.”
He acknowledged restoration will be a daunting task, describing it as an adventure.
“It will be five years of hard work,” Hewett said. “But I live here full time now, and my brother will be here full time. Two hard-working guys can do a lot.”
