A 32-year-old mother of two is dead and her husband faces second-degree murder charges in the first homicide case in Silverton in 29 years.
Jessica McFarland, 32, was found dead on the floor of her Mineral Street home early Friday morning, June 6, according to the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.
Her husband was taken into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder and was freed on $20,000 bond Monday, June 9.
Conditions include that he live with his mother in Rifle and that he refrain from using alcohol or drugs.
The sheriff’s office is releasing no information on the case, noting it has been turned over to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. In a 3-page arrest warrant affidavit dated June 6, CBI Agent Jeff Brown provided some details.
