At least eight Silvertonians have been included so far in scenes filmed for the feature movie now being made in Silverton, and a lot more are expected to appear on screen.
Associate Producer Mike Pisano of Visalia, Calif., said he expects to include a lot of Silverton children in the movie about the dog-sled run to Nome, Alaska, to save the town from an epidemic in 1925.
“As far as the kids, I want to use every last one that’s available,” Pisano said. “That’s my plan— along with their friends and families.”
The project is titled “The Great Race,” with Brian Presley the writer, director and star.
