Sheriff’s blotter
Feb. 11 — An identity theft was reported. A motorist was assisted. A building collapsed from the weight of snow. Received a parking complaint; the vehicle was gone when the officer arrived. A loose dog was reported on South Coal Bank Pass; it was not there when the officer checked.
Feb. 12 — Responded to a parking complaint.
Feb. 13 — A motorist was assisted. A pedestrian that was creating a traffic hazard was warned to walk on the side of the street.
Feb. 14 — Kendal G. Pastor, of Durango, was arrested on violation of a restraining order and was transported to jail. A parking citation was issued for parking on Greene Street when Snow Route was declared.
Feb. 15 — A motorist was assisted. Four pedestrians were warned to walk on the sidewalk instead of creating a traffic hazard by walking in the street. A warning was issued for a defective headlight. A complaint was received of snowmobiles riding in an area designated for skiers only. The information was referred to the Forest Service.
Feb. 16 — John Baker, of Silverton, was issued a summons for harassment. The officers received several civil complaints and the subjects were referred to the court. A complaint of dogs at large was received; the dogs were not there when the officer arrived. A harassment incident was reported; no charges filed. A one-vehicle traffic accident was investigated on County Road 2. A vicious dog was reported; the reporting subject did not want to file charges. A juvenile was found hiding in a dog house and was returned to his parent with a warning for violating curfew.
Feb. 17 — Martin Frias, of San Elizario, Texas, was issued a citation for failure to comply with chain restrictions. Two motorists were assisted. The officers continued to receive civil complaints and continued to refer the involved subjects to the courts.
