Silverton San Juan Fire and Rescue Authority has a full and robust volunteer roster going into 2024, with many new recruits joining this last year. Fire Chief Gilbert Archuleta, who has been with the fire department for 47 years and the Chief for 35 years now, said that he has seen more volunteers step up to the plate and join the local volunteer fire department than in years past.
