Margaret Bell, former court clerk, dies

Margaret L. (Marge) Bell, of Phoenix, beloved wife, mother grandmother and friend passed away Nov. 13, 2007. 
She was born in Salida, Colo., and at the age of 5, moved to Silverton, where she attended school and graduated in 1938 as the class salutatorian. That same year, she married James R. Bell and resided in Silverton for 44 years. 
Marge worked for several years at the County Courthouse and was the clerk of the District Court for 20 years before the couple moved to Phoenix. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim. 
Marge was proud to have been the Southwest District President of the San Juan Woman’s Club. 
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Tannatt (Darrell) and Sandra Eastman (Richard); five grandchildren. including Sandi Bieber (Paul), James Tannatt (Tina), Julie Strehlow (Steve) all of Phoenix, Jami Raffa (Paul) of Denver and Ricki Zuckert (Robert) of Chicago. There are five great-grandchildren: Darryl and Maggie Bieber, Cassidee Raffa, and Riley and Ryan Zuckert.
Marge was loved by many and was lovingly known to her family as “Tutu” and to her friends as the HUG Lady.  She had a quick wit and a beautiful smile and will be greatly missed. 
Services were Nov. 24 at North Phoenix Baptist Church Chapel, Central and Bethany Home Road.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers at Huger Center and Coronado House for lovingly caring for their Mother and Grandmother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her name to Huger Mercy Living Center, 2345 Orangewood Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85021 or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014.
