The Ridgway Visitor Center will remain closed in 2020, due to impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. The center, which has historically opened on May 1 and closed in October, is staffed by volunteers but the majority of volunteers will not be available this year, and it’s not possible to meet the stringent safety guidelines required to make the Ridgway Visitor Center with decreased staffing.

The board and staff of the Ridgway Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC), which operates the Visitor Center, will be working with the Town of Ridgway and Ridgway Railroad Museum to ensure information resources are available.

Changes to the outside of the Visitor Center will include a dispenser for the 2020 Ouray-Ridgway Visitor Guide and a poster with website information and a QR code that will send mobile phone users to RidgwayColorado.com.
