Teenage Skier Flight-for-Life’d Out of American Basin

On November 22nd San Juan County EMS and Flight for Life Durango responded to an injured skier in American Basin. The 16-year-old was about three miles up the trail with a neck injury. They carried him out safely and to the helicopter in under an hour and a half. The patient went to Mercy in Durango and then onto Children’s Hospital in Denver for further treatment.
